背景 | Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is at the junction of lipids synthesis and oxidative metabolic pathways. Acetyl-CoA carboxylases (ACC) are rate-limiting enzymes involved in the de novo synthesis of fatty acids by catalyzing the ATP-dependent carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to generate malonyl-CoA, which is then further converted to long-chain fatty acids by fatty acid synthase (FASN). One of the isofroms of ACC is ACC1, which is located in the cytosol. ACC1 is generally expressed in all tissues, it is expressed more in lipogenic tissues: liver, adipose, and lactating mammary gland. Phosphorylation by AMPK or PKA inhibits the enzymatic activity of ACC. |
