NEM (N-Ethylmaleimide)是一种来源于马来酸的有机化合物。它是cysteine peptidases的不可逆转性抑制剂，在活性位点硫醇基发生烷化。N-Ethylmaleimide (NEM) 可使内源性 deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) 失活。N-Ethylmaleimide (NEM) 特别抑制线粒体中磷酸盐的转运。
