特异性 Caspase-3 p12 Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous level of total Caspase-3 p12.
背景 Caspase-3 is one of the main effector caspases in mammalian cells. Caspase-3 is synthesized as a dormant proenzyme (p32), consisting of a 3 kDa prodomain, the large subunit (p17) and the small subunit (p12). Maturation is executed via a two-step mechanism. First, the large and the small subunit are generated by proteolytic cleavage mediated via an initiator caspase or through pH-dependent autocatalytic processing. In a second step, the preactivated caspase-3 self-catalyses removal of its prodomain from the large subunit to generate the p17 polypeptide. The mature enzyme was shown to exist as a tetramer with two independent active sites, each containing elements from one large (p17) and one small (p12) subunit.
