特异性 CNPase Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous levels of total CNPase.
背景 CNPase is a protein that hydrolyzes cyclic nucleotides to monophosphates (2' nucleotides). CNPase has two isoforms, CNPase1 (46 kDa) and CNPase2 (48 kDa), which are encoded separately by different promoters of the same gene and have different structural properties and subcellular localizations. A considerable level of CNPase expression and CNPase-like enzyme activity were found in membranes of cells in the spleen, liver, kidney, heart, and skeletal muscles. CNPase expression and its enzyme activity is localized in mitochondria, specifically in the mitochondrial membranes. CNPase is present in diverse eukaryotes and it is reported to be expressed at low levels in many mammalian tissues, at higher levels in dendritic cells, and at extremely high levels in oligodendrocytes, the major glial cells in the human brain. CNPase may be implicated in the regulation of mitochondrial Ca2+ fluxes and may regulate the mitochondrial permeability transition pore.
