特异性 eIF4A1 Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous levels of total eIF4A1
背景 The eIF4A (eukaryotic initiation factor 4A) proteins belong to the extensive DEAD-box RNA helicase family, the members of which are involved in many aspects of RNA metabolism by virtue of their RNA-binding capacity and ATPase activity. eIF4F activity is critical for unwinding secondary structure within the 5 -UTR, an event required for recruitment of the 43S pre-initiation complex. Three eIF4A proteins have been characterized in vertebrates: eIF4A1 and eIF4A2 are cytoplasmic, whereas eIF4A3 is nuclear-localized. Compared to the eIF4A2, eIF4A1 may be the preferred binding partner within the eIF4F complex. Loss of eIF4A1 is detrimental to cell line growth, whereas depletion of eIF4A2 does not have this effect. eIF4A1 predominantly binds to eIF4G while eIF4A2 preferentially binds to a member of the CCR4-NOT complex, cNOT7, which has been shown to play a key role in the miRNA repression pathway.
