特异性 HDAC4 Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous levels of total HDAC4.
背景 The acetylation and deacetylation of histones play an important role in the regulation of gene transcriptions. Histone acetylation is mediated by histone acetyltransferase, resulting in modification of the structure of chromatin, nucleosomal relaxation and altered transcriptional activation. The reverse reaction is mediated by histone deacetylase (HDAC), which induces deacetylation, chromatin condensation, and transcriptional repression. HDACs are divided into three distinct classes, I, II, and III. HDAC4 belongs to class II HDAC. HDAC4 is not expressed in the nuclei of mouse embryonic stem cells, but is dramatically up-regulated upon differentiation. HDAC4 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm, and serves as a nuclear corepressor that regulates bone and muscle development. The activity of HDAC4 is regulated through subcellular localization and the formation of multi-subunit complexes with other proteins.
