特异性 mTOR Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous levels of total mTOR.
背景 The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway senses and integrates a variety of environmental cues to regulate organismal growth and homeostasis. The pathway regulates many major cellular processes and is implicated in an increasing number of pathological conditions, including cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and neurodegeneration. mTOR is an atypical serine/threonine protein kinase that belongs to the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)-related kinase family and interacts with several proteins to form two distinct complexes named mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1) and 2 (mTORC2). The mTOR-containing complexes have different sensitivities to rapamycin as well as upstream inputs and downstream outputs. Both mTOR complexes are large, with mTORC1 having six and mTORC2 seven known protein components. They share the catalytic mTOR subunit, and also mammalian lethal with sec-13 (mLST8, also known as GβL), DEP domain containing mTOR-interacting protein (DEPTOR), and he Tti1/Tel2 complex. Raptor and PRAS40 are specific to mTORC1, while rictor, mSin1 and protor1/2 are only part of mTORC2.
