特异性 OGG1 Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous levels of total OGG1.
背景 OGG1 is a DNA repair glycosylase that localizes to both the nucleus and mitochondria, is the main enzyme responsible for identification and excision of 8-oxoG lesions. OGG1 plays a novel role in regulating cellular energy metabolism. It is acetylated by p300 in vivo predominantly at Lys338/Lys341. AcOGG1 is found to be localized exclusively in the nucleus, mostly distributed in discrete foci, while the unmodified OGG1 diffusely distributed mostly in the nucleus. Acetylation significantly increases OGG1's activity in vitro in the presence of AP-endonuclease by reducing its affinity for the abasic (AP) site product. OGG1 interacts with class I histone deacetylases, which may be responsible for its deacetylation. Acetylation of OGG1 acts as a regulatory switch in responding to oxidative stress.
